Planners
Every night your child will have a note in their planner to keep you informed as to what is happening in class. Please initial this message daily.
Behaviour System
Students in 2V are expected to make responsible choices in regards to their behaviour. We spend a lot of time talking as a class and discussing expectations together so that everyone feels safe and can concentrate on their work. Depending on the behaviour, a student will receive a verbal warning first. If the behaviour continues, they will be removed from that particular setting and will be asked to think about their actions. If the child continues to make bad choices, they will fill out a "Think About It" sheet, where they will write about what happened, and what they can do better next time. If behaviours continue to occur in class, parents will be notified. Depending on the severity of the behaviour, students may be removed from the situation with parents being contacted.
Homework
Students in 2V are given sufficient time to complete class assignments.
In order to build upon the skills learned in class, students are strongly encouraged to practice these at home. Students will be participating in a home reading program, as well as an at home math fluency program.
At times, some students may need extra help with certain aspects of their math. If this is the case, I will prepare a package to be sent home to work on.
